Project SAFE, Adopt-A-Family’s longest-running housing program, provides a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for 32 families experiencing homelessness. The program services the community’s most vulnerable families and prioritizes those with a head of household living with a disability.
The goal is to not only help families achieve independent living but to also improve their well-being in all areas of their lives, creating a stronger foundation for long-term stability.
Each resident of Project SAFE receives support from an on-site case manager. Families receive financial literacy training, educational opportunities, mental health referrals, life-skills training, and affordable childcare. Project SAFE collaborates with service providers from the community to provide families more opportunities.
Partner agencies include Dress for Success, Palm Beach State College, Genesis Community Health, The Lord’s Place, Community Partners, and other members of Palm Beach County’s Housing and Homeless Alliance.
- Project SAFE received a unique grant award through the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The grant provided funding for the installation of state-of-the-art, impact windows for all five buildings in the program. The upgrade allows for a safer, more energy efficient environment.
- Thanks to another generous grant, Project SAFE was able to appoint an on-site therapist to better serve its clients.
